Alan Castleton: King's Lynn, Norfolk, United Kingdom; Hi, I'm Alan Castleton and I reside here in historic King's Lynn, Norfolk. I have always messed around with a variety of paint and drawing styles and I would class myself as more of an illustrator than artist. I have illustrated books and calendars but late in 2011 I started to explore the monochrome world of graphite and the subtle shades of grey using mainly wildlife to test my abilities and mostly, my patience. Most of the graphite artwork shown on this blog has taken many hours of layering, subtle burnishing with a tortillon and judicious lifting out with blue tac.
